Mrs. Sue Carole Cooper, of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday, October 13, 2014, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 74. She was born September 14, 1940, in Waldenburg, the daughter of Willard Wilson and Ruth Dennon. Sue graduated High School in May of 1958 and married Billy Ray Cooper July 27, 1958. They were married for 56 years. She was a dental assistant for 18 years for Dr. Lowe and Dr. Burnett. She loved reading, bingo and music. She began playing the piano at the Greenfield Baptist Church when she was 8 years old and played for 64 years. She also gave numerous piano lessons through the years. She was a member and former president of the American Legion Ladies Auxilary and was in charge of the girls state program for 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Renee Cooper and a grandson, Gatlin Todd Cooper. She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Cooper of the home, three sons, Perry Cooper of Fairfield Bay, Wilson Cooper of Greenfield, and Micky Todd Cooper of Harrisburg, two sisters, Evelyn Griffin of Arkadelphia and Lois Johns of Greenfield, five grandchildren, Tyler Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Victoria Cooper, Heather Cooper, and Malory Cooper, two great grandchildren, Eakin Williams and Bentley Luther. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Criner and Rev. John Medlock officiating. Interment will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Greenfield Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Rolly Johnson, Kurt Johns, Rick Huffman, Danny Dillinger, Dave O'Brien and Ted Vaughn. Her High School Class of 1958 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
