Monette- Sudie Ellen Simpson Reeves, 91, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

She was born September 2, 1926 in Monette to the late Edgar and Willie Hartsell Simpson. She and her husband, Howard owned and operated Reeves Grocery Store for thirty years. Sudie was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, aunt and a devoted Christian and prayer warrior.

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Sue and Martin Steed of Monette; grandchildren, Michael Stracener, Tommy Stracener Jr. and Melissa Steed and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Reeves; five brothers, Austin Simpson, Norman Simpson, Estel Simpson, Larry Simpson and Paul Kay Simpson; four sisters, Inez Mullen, Vivian Fletcher, Nina Simpson and Shirley Bronaugh.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Saturday at Monette First Baptist Church.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bird officiating and eulogy by her nephew, Danny Simpson. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers, Franklin Smithee, Alan Reed, Jerry Knapp, Shannon Morris, Jered Rolland and Kevin Stewart and honorary pallbearers, her nephews and the deacons of the Monette First Baptist Church.
