Obituary

Bono- Sterling Ray Wright, died Friday May 23, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at the age of 72. He was born on February 5, 1942 to the late Earl Raymond Wright and Mae Alice Shaver Wright in Middlebrook. Mr. Wright was a factory worker at Wheeler Brick for many years, he also worked for Monroe Auto Equipment in Paragould. He was an avid baseball fan and loved the St Louis Cardinals. Sterling was a good Christian family man, he attended Washington Avenue Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 46 year, Genevie Wright of the home; a daughter, Shelia Stice and her husband Larry Jr. of Lake City; a grandson, Steven Stice of Lake City and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by three sisters, Virginia Lemmons, Shelby Jean Floyd and Earline Marlett; a brother, Kenneth Wright. A celebration of his life will be 10 am Tuesday May 27, 2014 at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Gossett officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home 300 West Matthews Ave. on Monday May 26, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Bill Montgomery, Robbie Cook, Arlie Bennett, Byron Griffey, Stacy Miser and Bob Brice will serve as active pallbearers and Dud Owens as honorary pallbearer. The family request lasting memorials be made to Washington Avenue Church of Christ in Jonesboro.
