Obituary

Stanley Kenneth Edington, 67, of Reyno, AR, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.

Stanley was born January 27, 1953 in Pocahontas to John Marion and Goldia Molencupp Edington Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stanley and Ginger were married in Cave City, AR and shared 45 years together. Stanley was a devoted husband, dad, and papaw. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids. Stanley spent his life serving his church and community. He was a member and trustee of Old Reyno Freewill Baptist Church. He was on the Reyno City Council and served as Mayor for many years. Stanley was a founding and active member of the Biggers-Reyno Fire Department. He also served on the Biggers-Reyno School Board, Randolph County Equalization Board , Pine Village Housing Board, and the Nelson-Johnston Cemetery Board.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Ginger Diane Edington; daughters, Kara Beth Townsend of Corning, and Carmen Dee Edington of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Sophia Beth and Gracie Faith Townsend, both of Corning, and Finn Thomas and Daphne Kit Williams, both of Conway, AR; brother, J.M. Edington III of Corning; and sister, Angelia Marie Carlton of Bono.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. with services at 2:00 P.M. at Old Reyno Free Will Baptist Church with Jed Daniels and Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Edington IV, Marcus Carlton, Mark Carlton, Nathan Woolard, Danny Edington, and Jimmy Edington.

Honorary pallbearer is Lincoln Carlton.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
