Shirley Yancey of Harrisburg departed this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at her home at the age of 77.

She was born December 6, 1948, to the late Clarence and Virginia Banks Yancey, in Harrisburg, Arkansas.

Shirley worked for the Dept. of Human Services for over 30 years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers and gardening but loved going to New Orleans!

She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband Carl Shannon, 4 brothers; Anthony Yancey, David Yancey, Clarence Yancey and Thomas Yancy. One sister, Charlotte Nichols.

She is survived by; her son, Dustin Shannon, a step-son, Donald ( Elizabeth) Shannon of Harrisburg, Her sisters’, Vicki Hively of Cherry Valley, Linda Popejoy of Trumann and Melissa Hooper of Bay Village. Four grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 step grandchild.

A Memorial service will be held at the Harrisburg Community Center on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
