Obituary

Caraway – Mrs. Shirley Ann Redding, 81, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at her residence.

She was born in Caraway on November 22, 1943, to the late Paul Brown and Beatrice "Happy" Blake.  She lived most of her life in Caraway and was a homemaker and was retired from Walmart after 38 years as a stock manager.  She loved gardening, fishing and her grandchildren most of all.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caraway and was instrumental in obtaining the Veterans Memorial Monument in Caraway.

Mrs. Redding is survived by her son, Jerry Wayne (Hope) Redding of Caraway, two sisters, Shelby Heeb of Harrisburg and Betty Hoggard of Texas, her beloved grandchildren, Clayton Redding, Cody Redding, Camren Redding, Wyatt (Kenzie) Hudson, Grace Hudson and Luke Hudson and her great-grandchildren, Allis Redding and Ridge Hudson, her son from another Mother, Jason (Trish) Sitz and best friend, Glenda Barker and several Nieces and nephews and other family members.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kiana Lee Gatlin, two sisters, Bonny Brewer and Mary Kuiper, and two brothers, Paul Brown and James Warren.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Caraway Cemetery with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating.  Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of the Gregg Funeral Home.

The family requests lasting memorials to the Caraway Veterans Memorial Monument in Caraway in Mrs. Redding's memory.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
