Lake City- Shirley Ann Medlin, 81, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2025. Born in Huntsville, Alabama, on September 7, 1944,to Charles Ray and Dorothy Erlene Hays Anderson, Shirley lived a life marked by devotion, to her family, her faith, and her community.

She dedicated 34 years of compassionate service to Lakeside Nursing Home, where she retired. Outside of work, Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures: collecting cherished photographs, cooking hearty meals, fishing on quiet afternoons, doting on her beloved dogs, watching General Hospital on TV, and spending time with family.

A faithful member of Refuge Baptist Church, Shirley's spirit of kindness and warmth touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her son, Donnie Medlin of Lake City; her brother, Buford Anderson, and sister, Stella Kash, both of Heber Springs; sister-in-law, Sally Bullough of Blytheville; and son-in-law, Earl Wycuff of Jonesboro. Her legacy continues through six grandchildren: Bobbie Ann Sheedy (Patrick) of Harrisburg, Tony Medlin of Lake City, Dustin Medlin (Amy) of Jonesboro, Brittany Medlin of Lake City, Jake Batchelar of Harrisburg, and Morgan Medlin of Jonesboro, several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Medlin; daughters, Stephanie Wycuff and Lori Batchelar; brothers, Roy Anderson and Billy Anderson; sister, Daisy Irene Armstrong; and nephew, Vance Armstrong.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Refuge Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Hinkle. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Old Lake City Cemetery.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Donnie Medlin, Tony Medlin, Dustin Medlin, Morgan Medlin, Earl Wycuff, and Jake Batchelar.
