Mr. Sherrill Brown, a lifelong resident of Bay Village, departed this life Monday, September 25, 2017, near his home, at the age of 67.
He was born January 2, 1950 in Bay Village, Arkansas, the son of the late George Brown and Effie Bradsher Brown.
Sherrill was one of the last graduating seniors from Vanndale High School. He married Debbie Pilcher on August 14, 1970 and they enjoyed 47 years together. Sherrill retired from farming when he was 50 years old and began a career in carpentry and cabinet work.
He was a faithful member of the Bay Village Assembly of God where he was a deacon and served as Sunday School Superintendent and Bible Class Teacher. Years ago he was the Royal Ranger Leader and enjoyed working with the youth. He also played the Bass guitar. Sherrill loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter and rabbit hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Effie Brown and one brother, Arvil Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Brown of the home, two daughters, Robin Bateman (Marc) of Cabot, and Bridgette Wilburn (Michael) of Van Buren, two brothers, Lloyd Reece Brown (Betty) of Bay Village and Stanley Brown (Barbra) of Harrisburg, two sisters, Georgette Meeler (Bob) of Wynne, and Katherine Baker (Burt) of Fayetteville, TN, three grandchildren, Scout Bateman, Alli Wilburn and Preslee Wilburn, and many, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Bay Village Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Chappell, Brad Horsley, Adam Wigginton, Tim Pulley, Randy Wigginton, Shawn McElhannon, Wesley Hooper and George Beasley. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Bay Village Assembly of God Church.
