Jonesboro-Sharon Kay Stevenson 79, passed from this life at NEA Baptist Hospital on Saturday March 1, 2025.

She was born in Decatur IL on February 10, 1946, to the late William and Vera Carlisle Varner.

She worked at Safeway and was a great wife. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sharon was a member of the Nettleton Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and volunteering at the church. Sharon enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball. She also enjoyed going to class reunions, ceramics, crafts, and making pageant dresses.

She is survived by her husband Larry Stevenson of 58 years; sons Clark (Stacey) Stevenson of Jonesboro and Timothy Padget Stevenson of Nebraska; daughters: Michelle (Troy) Snell of Jonesboro and Kaylee (Nate) Sawyer of Pocahontas; grandchildren: Chris (Chaley) Croom of Snyder TX, Samantha Croom of Bono, Hayden Snell of Jonesboro, Logan Bond of Jonesboro AR, Rylee (Braxton) Woods of Wahiawa HI; great-grandchildren: Chesley Croom of Snyder TX , Jaxyn Wilson of Bono, Cashton Croom of Snyder TX, Tynzlee Wilson of Bono, Cami Croom, Cailynn Croom, Cadi Croom of Snyder TX, and Weston Sawyer of Pocahontas; sisters: Janie Gatlin and Caren Hughes of Jonesboro and sister-in-law Sandra Varner of Hamilton TX.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Ida Ruth Varner, Christine Varner, Margaret Varner and brothers Paul Eugene Varner, Gene Varner, and Jimmy Varner.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 6, 2025, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Friday March 7, 2025, at the funeral home with Brock Kendell and Jimmy Young officiating with burial to follow in Old Enterprise Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Richard Stevenson, Robbie Cook, H.R. McDonough, Brandon Smith, Troy Snell, and Hayden Snell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Christopher Croom, Dr. Brannon Treece, Dino Enlow, Caston Croom, Logan Bond, Jaxyn Wilson, Michael Hughes, Steven Varner, Troy Gatlin, James Gatlin, Timothy Padget Stevenson and the ICU doctors and nurses at NEA Baptist Hospital.
