Jonesboro- Sharley Johnson, 98, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

She was born January 12, 1923 in Swifton to the late George and Ida Cook Gale. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She and her husband, John Lofton Johnson shared forty-nine years together until his death in 1990. She was active in her community and with the home extension club and her church, Washington Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed babysitting her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, George Johnson (Frieda); a granddaughter, Stephanie Maloney (Michael); great-grandchildren, Kennedy Grace Maloney and Thomas Michael Maloney all of Jonesboro.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Johnson and Johnny Johnson and two sisters, Lola Mae Williams and Elsie Thomas.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Johnson Cemetery in Cash with Bill Willard officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
