Pocahontas - Sarah Berniece Johnson , 97, went to the with the Lord on Tuesday, Mau 13, 2008. She was born on August 29, 1910 to John and Nina Jester Walters in Jackson, Tennessee. She married John Cottle Johnson in Memphis, Tennessee. They were blessed with a daughter, Emily Carol Johnson Harris. She was preceded in death by both her husband, John Cottle Johnson on April 29th, 1977 and her daughter, Emily Carol Johnson Harris on December 7, 1992. She is survived by her granddaughter, Sarah Beth Harris Platt, her husband, Ray and their son, Christopher Ryan Platt. Grandson, James Johnson Harris, wife Susan and daughter Skye Caroline Harris. She is also survived by Jerry Morgan, Annette "Dee Dee" Avery, Melissa Mitchell, Betty Penn, Thomas Cooper, Jerry and Pat Walters, and her longtime care givers as well as many friends. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home with Doyle Baety officiating in Pocahontas, AR. The family will receive friends and family on Friday May 16, 2008 from 5-7 PM at the McNabb Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 AM on Saturday May 17, 2008 at the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas. The pallbearers will be Dwain Morris, Dale Morris, John Jackson, Ray Platt, Christopher Platt, and Eric Steimel. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN.
