Jonesboro - Sarah "Sallie" Frances Stewart Bowdon passed away on August 5, 2018.
She was born Christmas Eve, 1931 she sometimes celebrated her birthday in the summer with her grandmothers, Corrie Stewart and Janie Chandler and her aunt Elizabeth Armstrong. She enjoyed celebrating holidays with family, socializing at the beauty shop, and was thrilled to go on any outing where she could have her favorite food, fried shrimp. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Amaranth.
Even in her final weeks she had a glowing positive energy and was loved by all who knew her. She would speak highly of the staff at St. Elizabeth's and most importantly her son, Ervin who cared for her every single day.
Lovingly remembered by her children, Betty Jane and Mike Mashburn, H. B. Foster Bowdon, Jr. and Linda Bowdon, Dudley Stewart and Faith Bowdon and her caring son Ervin Bowdon; grandchildren, Shannon Mashburn, Kim Cullum, Nathan Bagley, Molly Bowdon, Maddie Bowdon and Maria Bowdon; great-grandchildren, Sam Mashburn, Hannah Hill, Aislyn Cullum and Barrett George Streeter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, H. B. Foster Bowdon, her parents, William Dudley Stewart and Frances Chandler Stewart.
A celebration of her life will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. John Miles officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ross Romero, William Streeter, H. B. Foster Bowdon Jr., Mike Mashburn, Dudley Bowdon and Shannon Mashburn.
