Obituary

Jonesboro- RuthAnn Garner Ulrey, 97, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  RuthAnn was born in Casey, Illinois on June 5, 1926 to Wade "Govie" and Bessie Garner. She graduated from Casey Township High School in 1944. In 1945 she married Norman W. Ulrey. She was the mother of Phillip Lee Ulrey.

In 1972 she moved with her husband to Paragould and in 1978 she and her husband were transferred to Dallas, Texas. They returned to Arkansas in 1988, retiring in Hot Springs Village.

In 2000, RuthAnn and Norm moved to Jonesboro to be closer to family. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Jonesboro. She was a devoted homemaker, avid golfer and loved to tell stories.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ulrey of Jonesboro; grandson, Wade Ulrey of Little Rock; granddaughter, Jill Lloyd (husband, Brandy) of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren whom called her "Anan" Kaira Drope and Bennett Ditto and step-great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lloyd.

RuthAnn is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years Norman; son, Phillip Lee; two sisters, Wanda Gregg and Rosemary Milam.

In RuthAnn's request she was cremated and burial will be later at Casey Cemetery in Casey, Illinois with a private family memorial.

Services were entrusted to Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
