Jonesboro - Ruth Mae DeJournett, 92, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013. Born April 14, 1920 in Jonesboro. She is preceded in death by her husband, James DeJournett, father, John C. Jenkins, mother, Beulah (Forester) and step-father, Bernard Templeton. One daughter, Annette Jennings, three brothers, J.C. Jenkins, Howard Templeton and Freddie Templeton and sisters, Lucille Swick and Virginia Jankowski. She is survived by sons; Darrell (Anna Mae) Higginbotham of Pocahontas, Jim (Lori) DeJournett of Pocahontas and Mel DeJournett of Jonesboro. Daughters; Louise Crews of Granite City, IL., Linda Gentry of Monticello, AR., Rita Speer of Paragould, AR. 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Brothers, Bill (Vonette) Templeton of Jonesboro and James (Pat) Templeton of Festus, MO., and one sister, Margaret Ivy of Pocahontas. Sister-in-laws, Carol Templeton of Jonesboro and Mary DeJournett of Idaho Falls, ID, brother-in-law, Alvin DeJournett of Advance, MO., along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Rev. Rich Jenkins, Rev. Matt Smith, Rev. Jeremy DeJournett and Rev. Mike Robbins. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 P.M. Pallbearers include: Jody Gentry, Jason Crews, Jeremy DeJournett, Larry Higginbotham, Adam Schaefer, and Jessie DeJournett. Honorary Pallbearers: Jamie DeJournett, Steve Higginbotham, Kenny Higginbotham, Kevin Johnson, Dane Dillion and Mike Higginbotham.
