Obituary
Jonesboro- Ruby Alberta Payne, 88, passed Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Bernard Medical Center.
She was born November 21, 1932 in Lunsford to the late Ruben and Carrie Newberry Owens. Mrs. Payne had worked for several years at Lincoln and Walker Company and was a cook at Valley View Schools. She enjoyed sewing and watching TV and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Payne of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mildred Cunningham of Jonesboro and Willie Lee of Springfield, VA; three grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Kevin King of Jacksonville, FL, Josh and Tabitha Daniel of Jonesboro and Heather and Jesse Bishop of Jonesboro and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Payne: one daughter, Patty Moss, one sister, Ruthie Wade and a brother, Richard Owens.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Services were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
