Obituary

Bay- Ruby E. Norwood, 91, passed Monday, June 2, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born May 15, 1923 in Leachville to the late Carbert and Pearl Kinder Rodgers. She lived most of her life in Bay. She was a homemaker and had worked for Coca-Cola Company in Jonesboro. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and canning and loved to go to her church, Bay Church of Christ. Mrs. Norwood loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Betty and Quention Fletcher of Trumann, Brenda and Jack Spencer of Branson, Missouri and Larry and Beverly Norwood of Bay and Barbara Busby of Huntsville; a brother and his wife, Jerry and Judy Rodgers of Lunsford; a grandson whom she raised, Kevin Norwood of Trumann; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Norwood; a daughter, Joyce Mink; a son, James Darrell Norwood; a sister and two brothers. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Bay Church of Christ with Marvin Rickett and Mark Brewer officiating. Burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Bay Church of Christ. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Carbert Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Phillip Rodgers, Donnie Rodgers, Allen Rogers and Henry Rodgers and as honorary pallbearers, Derrick Mink, Wade Boyd, Ernie Boyd, Kevin Norwood, Justin Norwood, Jason Spencer, Melvin Mink, Freddie Lee and Brandon Mink. Lasting memorials may be sent to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
