Jonesboro- Ruby Inez Bonham, 89, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born September 17, 1926 in Guin, Alabama to the late Robert and Virgie Roberts Vaughn. Mrs. Bonham retired after thirty-four years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving person with a servant's heart, who loved to cook and loved her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Paula and Louie Asher and Sandra and Buddy Johnston all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Alan Johnston (Tracy), Gregg Asher, Abria Vansandt (Jonathan), Angela Harris (Casey) and Marcus Asher (Allison); seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Johnston, Zachary Harris, Andrew Johnston, Abby Harris, Eden Vansandt, Toby Harris, Emily Harris; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bonham and eight brothers and sisters, Cecil Vaughn, Laborn Vaughn, Arnold Vaughn, Travis Vaughn, Austin Vaughn, Leta Hodges, Lila Stafford and Lois Best. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Johnston and Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Alan Johnston, Gregg Asher, Marcus Asher, Casey Harris, Johnathan Vansandt and Mark Mayfield and as honorary pallbearers, Lonnie Talbert, Jerry Cooper, Gene Beal, Ron Fielder and Bill Gibson. Lasting memorials may be sent to the Gideons or Central Baptist Church Mission Fund. A special thank you to the staff at St. Bernards Village and The Villa, Craighead Nursing Home and Flo Phil Jones Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave to her.
