Monette- Royal Fletcher, 81, passed this life Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro. He was born December 14, 1933 at Monette to the late Ernest and Vivian Simpson Fletcher. Royal was a graduate of Bay High School and Arkansas State University, and a veteran of the US Army. For many years he was Vice President and co-owner of Continental Telephone Directory. He was a member of Monette Baptist Church, ASU Alumni Association, and the Monette American Legion. He is survived by a sister, Pat Fletcher Eggers (Noell) of Monette; two brothers, Carl Fletcher (Donna) of Hardy and David Fletcher (Ann) of Cabot; nephew, Shannon Morris (Sandra) of Monette, as well as other nephews/nieces, great-nephews/nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Visitation will be 6-00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Monette First Baptist Church. A celebration of his life will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Burial will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Honored to serve as pallbearers, Lester Mullen, Carroll Simpson, Martin Lee Steed, Freddie Heise, Frank Smithee, and Paul Williams and honorary pallbearers, his nephews. The family wishes to give thanks and appreciation to the following, Dr. Havdala, Dr. Cohen and Dr. Mark Sifford and the wonderful St Bernard's CCIU Staff, Dr. Miguel Aguina with the entire staff at Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy and Dr. Ben Owens and the entire staff at Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House.
