Obituary

Ronnie Dalton Wheeless, 69, of Pocahontas, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 06, 2011 at his home. Ronnie was born December 18, 1941 at the home of his grandparents in Campbell, Missouri to the late Dalton and Ollie Landis Wheeless. He lived most of his lifetime in Walnut Ridge before moving to Pocahontas twelve years ago. Graduating from Walnut Ridge High in 1960 he became a successful farmer, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Shannon Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Mary Jane; an infant daughter, Jacqueline; one sister, Louise, and one brother, Jimmy. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tonda, of the home; two sons and their wives, Ronald and Melanie Wheeless of Jonesboro and Heath and Lindsey Jarrett of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Cyndi Wheeless of Paragould and Mica Lamb and husband John of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, Taylor and Tyler Wheeless of Jonesboro and Cody, Cord, Trey, and Abby Lamb of North Little Rock; one sister, Carolyn (Tom) Towell of Pocahontas; three brothers, Wendell Wheeless of Pocahontas, Ricky (Autie Jarboe) Wheeless of Walnut Ridge, and Gene (Charlotte) Wheeless of Powhatan; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Warner of Walnut Ridge. He is also survived by three close friends whom he considered his brothers, Alvin Taylor of Paragould, Carroll Callahan of Walnut Ridge, and John Moyer of Marks, MS. Many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends mourn his passing. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7th from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8 in the Chapel of McNabb's Funeral Home of Pocahontas with Bro. Kevin Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens with pallbearers; Jay Towell, Shaun Wheeless, Andrew Warner, Terry Rapert, James Taylor, and Randy Getson. Honorary pallbearers are Alvin and Bertha Taylor, Carroll and Barbara Callahan, and John and Nancy Moyer.
