Monette- Ronnie James McCord, 73, left this world for his home in heaven on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Ronnie was born on May 8, 1949 to Chester and Lillian McCord. He was a lifelong resident of Monette/ Childress communities and was a member of Monette First Baptist Church. Ronnie was a 1967 graduate of Monette High School and made many friendships there that lasted a lifetime.

In 1970, Ronnie married Sharon Robins and they made their home in Childress near the family farm. Ronnie loved God, his family, farming, singing and playing music and serving his community. He served for many years as a volunteer firefighter and a first responder. Ronnie was especially proud of all his grandkids.

Ronnie was survived by his wife, Sharon of their home; children, James Paul and his wife, Katie, Julie and husband Colby and Clint all of Monette; grandchildren, Connor, Harris, Lilie, Macie, Max, Kolbie, Emma Kate and Stella; two sisters and their husbands, Patricia and Reuben McClelland of Jonesboro and Connie and Bob Hurst of Monette; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lillian McCord; two sisters, Linda Anderson and Kathy Drummond and grandson, Carter Lane McCord.

A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12:00 Wednesday at the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Anderson Jr., Randy Anderson, Bryan Drummond, Bob Hurst Jr., Mark Hurst and Keith Rubottom. Honorary pallbearers are the MHS Class of 1967 and members of the Monette Fire Department.
