Mr. Ronald Clyde "Ronnie" Branyan of Harrisburg departed this life Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Flo \u0026 Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 48.
He was born May 6, 1968 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Charles Howard Branyan and Geraldine Caplinger Branyan.
Ronnie served in the Arkansas Army National Guard for 13 years and he is no stranger to dedicated service. He served his community in various roles. He was a former member of the Harrisburg Fire Department, the Diaz Police Department, the Diaz Fire Department, and the Jackson County Office of Emergency Management. He worked for Medic One Ambulance for several years. He was a former member of the Grubbs and Amagon Police Departments, the Poinsett County Sheriff's Department and the Marked Tree Police Department. He was also a preacher of the gospel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Geraldine Branyan, two brothers, David and Donnie Branyan and one sister, Sharon Wray.
He is survived by his wife, April Owens Branyan of the home, his adoptive mother, Betty Walls of Harrisburg, six sons, Matt Branyan and his wife Evelyn of Jonesboro, Chad Branyan and his wife Amanda of Weiner, Patrick Branyan of Harrisburg, Justin Branyan of Waldenburg, Zachary Branyan of Waldenburg and Jayden Branyan of Judsonia, four daughters, Veronica Easter and her husband Clarence of Harrisburg, Holly Dunham and her husband Wes of Houston, Texas, Lauren Branyan of Waldenburg and Ashlyn Branyan of Judsonia, one step son, Lance Davis of Amagon and one step daughter, Lacey Davis of Weiner, two sisters, Jeresa Parten and Rita Barr, both of Jonesboro, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 30, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Brother Allen Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in Bolivar Cemetery with honors. Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Mike Long, Trey Randolph, Glenn Dugan, Andy Ball, Brian Brookes, Gary Hefner, and David McCall. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Poinsett County Sheriff's Department, Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Diaz Police and Fire Departments, Harrisburg Police and Fire Departments, Marked Tree Police Department and Medic One Ambulance Service.
