Cape Girardeau, MO - Ronald Leondus Rose, 60, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. Born December 1, 1952 in Pocahontas, AR to Leondus Rose (formerly of Pocahontas, AR) of Malvern, AR and the late Pearlie Hudson Rose of Pocahontas, AR. He is survived by two children; a daughter, Shannon Thompson of Scott City, MO, and a son, Todd Rose of Jackson, MO.; two sisters, Sara Steger of Huntsville, AL and Rhonda Foster of Pocahontas, AR and his father, Leondus Rose and wife, Betty of Malvern, AR,; seven grandchildren, Aidan and Owen Thompson; Caysie, Karsyn, Kyndall, Lauren,and Molly Rose; nieces Haley and Holly Steger; nephews, Mack and Ron Foster; loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ron lived in Pocahontas, Arkansas from birth until he and his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1962. He graduated from Bayless High School and attended Harding College. Ron worked as a truck driver for Wetterau IGA in Scott City, Missouri. He was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ. In October 1991, Ron suffered a massive stroke and his residence became the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Stan Rogers officiating at McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Home Chapel on a future date. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Lutheran Home for the extraordinary care and attention provided for over 20 years.
