Obituary

Ronald Blake Roberts, known by most as "Buck", passed from this earth on Thursday, March 13, 2025 aged 71 years at his home near O'Kean.

Born February 7, 1954 in Pocahontas; Buck was the oldest of three children born to James Kenneth Roberts and Norma Lou Getson.  A 1972 graduate of Delaplaine High School, Buck did a variety of things in his life.  Beginning by growing up and working on the family farm near O'Kean, to driving Big Bud tractors in eastern Montana, to working at Emerson Electric in Paragould to Bosch Tool and Countryside Package Store, although he spent the majority of his working life driving a fuel delivery truck for Farm Service out of Walnut Ridge.  In his later years while not working on his family farm or for friend Jim Cunningham on his farm, he most usually could be found tinkering on an old vehicle, lawnmower, or model cars.  But by-far his favorite pastime was riding one of his Harley-Davidson Fat Boys.  This took him from Sturgis, KY to Sturgis, SD and several points in between, many times riding in a poker run or some other sort of charitable event along the way.  Buck was also a long-time volunteer fire fighter for the O'Kean Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his son Jeromey Blake Roberts, and granddaughter Kyla Jean Rickey.

Survivors include his children; Shawna (Jessie) Rickey of the home, Ronnie (DaRae) Roberts of Beech Grove, grandchildren Hunter (Emily) Rickey, Caley Rickey, Ethan Rickey, Ainsley Roberts and Adley Roberts; mother of his children and life-long companion Deon Roberts Peaslee of Hoxie; brother Steve (Gayle) Roberts of O'Kean, sister Kathy (David) Hicks of Violet Hill and a host of other family members and close friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2025 from 2-3 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 3 PM with Rev. Aaron Winfrey speaking.  Buck's grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.  Cremation was his choice for his earthly remains.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude for all of the prayers and visits from family and friends over the last seven months of his stroke induced disability.  A special thanks to the staff of Legacy Hospice that helped his family keep him in the comfort of his own home.
