Bono - Roger Thompson, 73, of Bono, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022.

Roger was born July 24, 1949, in West Point, Mississippi to the late James and Maudine "Hanky" Elizabeth Thompson. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Purple Heart recipient. He was an active member of the V.F.W. Post #1991 and participated in Veteran's Day activities. Roger was a proud veteran who loved spending time with his friends riding motorcycles. He was a loved father, grandpa, son, brother and friend.

He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Ernest Junior Broadaway and his brother, J.R. Broadaway.

Roger is survived by his daughter Shea (Ryan) Helms of Pocahontas; granddaughter, Ava Helms; siblings, Ricki Broadaway, Rena Tyner and Scott Broadaway and numerous friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel.

Services at 11:30 a.m. with Trent Kirksey officiating with military honors. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
