Obituary

Jonesboro- Robert H. Robinson, 92, "the original", known to everyone as Bob, took the checkered flag on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. In World War II Bob served in Pacific Theatre and earned a Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbons, a medal for the Philippine Liberation, three Bronze Stars, and the WWII Victory Ribbon. Bob was a long time member of the St. Mark's Church, Silver Sneakers, the Elks 498, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. Like MacGyver, if you gave Bob a toothpick and a wrench he could build an entire house. Bob joined his best gal, Ann, to continue their adventure after 68 years of marriage here on earth. His daughter, Donna, and his mother, Johnie, were also waiting for him at the finish line. Those left in the stands are his son, Robert H. Robinson "the second one", known as Robin (Fran); three grandchildren, Robert H. Robinson "the third one", known as Ryker (Candee), Will (Jamie), and Lee Ann (Mike); and five great-grandchildren: Halen, Robert H. Robinson "the fourth one", known as Rike, Win, Liam, Arlo, and another boy on the way. There will be a celebration of his life from 5:30 until 7:30 pm, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 24, 2015 at the church. Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Mark's Episcopal Church or the LUNGevity Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
