Pocahontas - Robert LaVaughn Jones, 69, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. Born June 04, 1943 in Piggott, AR. to the late Robert and Laurie Jones. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Lee Jones, an infant sibling, one stepson, Joshua Young, and one great granddaughter, Summar Smith. He is survived by his wife, Judy Jones of the home, children include, Kim and husband Tim Hobbs of Knobel, Marilyn and husband Dickie Mitchell of Pocahontas, Dennis and wife Sandy Jones of Maynard, Jeanea Jones of Pocahontas, Robert Jr. and wife Julie Jones of Bay, Deanna Dildine of Pocahontas, Tameca Jones of Pocahontas, and Jimmy and wife Lisa Jones of Pocahontas. Grandchildren include, Billy and wife Juanita Johnson of Pocahontas, Samantha Johnson of Knobel, Denis and wife Misty Jones of Maynard, Craig and wife Erika Sisco of Pocahontas, Lacy Wheeless of Jonesboro, Chelsey Jones of Pocahontas, Colton Jones of Bay, Heather Dildine of Pocahontas, and Andrea Dildine of Supply. Great grandchildren include, Caden Sweaney of Knobel, Alyssa and Summer Pitcher, Hunter and Eliwana Jones all of Pocahontas, Brentley Stormes and Lance Lane of Knobel, Brayden Jones of Maynard, Bayley and Sawyer Sisco of Pocahontas, and Brian Shore of Jonesboro. Three brothers, Milburn Jones of Doniphan, Bernard Jones of Reyno, and James Jones of Biggers. Two sisters, Loretta Fowler of Maynard and Vonda Jones of Reyno and several nieces and nephews. Baseball was Robert's favorite of all sports, but he loved hunting, fishing, and throwing horseshoes with all of his friends. He loved his family and life in general. He was loved and known by everyone. He always touched someone's heart. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Shane Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Chesser Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m.
