Obituary

Maynard- Robert Herman Harris, 82, passed away Monday April 30, 2012. Born November 30, 1929 to Herman and Annie (Snowden) Harris in Supply, Arkansas. He was retired from McDonnell Douglas where he worked for 35 years as a tool and cutter grinder. He served as president of union District Lodge 837-B of the I.A.M.A.W for many years. He loved his family, the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed composing songs regarding things he was passionate about, including union activities and the war effort. He is survived by his children Barbara (Johnson) of Indianapolis, Sandy (and Michael Silger) of St. Louis, Sister Jean (Helsel) of Pocahontas, brother Carman of Maynard. Adored grandfather of Bradley and Taylor Johnson, Indianapolis, Brandon Waller of Honolulu, Mickey and Katey Silger of St. Louis. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe, Hartwell, Norman, and Jess. Services: at McNabb Funeral Home, 2129 Park St., Pocahontas, Friday, May 5th, 5:00-8:00 and service Saturday at 10:30 am in the Chapel with Bob McMillion officiating. Burial will follow in Pittman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
