Monette- Robert "Bob" Birondo, 84, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 31, 1938 in Lanai, District of Hawaii. Bob served his country proudly in the United States Marines. Robert and Oleta had a true love story and were together over fifty years.  He was known to few as Papa, to many as Uncle Bob and to a multitude as Uncle Brother and was so loved and respected by his family and extended family.

He was very prideful of his Hawaiian Heritage and loved passing the traditions to future generations.  He loved his tropical florals and plants!  He decorated his yard into a Hawaiian paradise, loving his Banana Trees, Hibiscus and he loved his Rose bushes too. He loved his puppy IZZY with all his heart. Bob was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile and wonderful voice. He loved his family, friends, music and life.

He is survived by his wife, Oleta Dunavin Birondo; brothers, Leo, Nicolas and Ping Birondo; sister, Ruth DeMesa; grandchildren, Alexandria (Jason) Stevens and Ronald Sapp;  great-grandchildren, Lily and Atom Sapp and Chase Alexander and Callie Marie Stevens.

He was preceded  his mother, Helen Consolation Boloran; father, Nicholas Birondo; daughter, Jenice Birondo;  brother, Nixon Birondo and sisters, Helen Doris Dodson and Billie D. McKinney.

The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Gregg Funeral Home.

A celebration of his life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Stan Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Macey Cemetery.
