Obituary

Mr. Ricky H. Armstrong of Harrisburg, departed this life Friday Evening, December 5, 2014, at his home, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 56. He was born December 31, 1957 in Plant City, FL, the son of Houston Armstrong and Joyce Vaughn Armstrong. Ricky spent most of his life in Cross and Poinsett County, AR. He was a graduate of Cross County High School and enjoyed hunting, playing music and spending time with his friends. He married Wanda Riley on August 26, 1977 and they enjoyed 37 years together. He was a truck driver for NEA trucking for the past 10 years. He is survived by his wife Wanda Armstrong of the home, 1 son, Jamey Aaron Armstrong of Whitehall, his parents, Houston and Joyce Armstrong of Hickory Ridge, two brothers, Lester Arnold Armstrong (Tina) of Harrisburg, Kevin Armstrong (Susie) of Hickory Ridge, 1 sister, Ann Wixson (Tad Raby) of Hickory Ridge, two grandchildren, Gage Armstrong of Walnut Ridge and Trenton Armstrong of Harrisburg, his father and mother in-law, James and Dorothy Riley of Harrisburg, two sister in-laws, Vicki Sanders (Lawrence) of Neosho, MO and Teresa Witt (Donald Jones) of Harrisburg, a brother in-law, Dennis Riley (Mary) of Cherry Valley, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Lawrence Sanders, Chuck Miller and Eddie Passmore officiating. Interment will follow in Tyre Cemetery near Cherry Valley. Pallbearers will be Zac Witt, Jeff Bradshaw, Bryan Reiboldt, Daniel Humphreys, Trevor Armstrong, Rusty Aderhold, Dustin Wixson, Richard Jones and Josh Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Mitchell, Jerry Shoemaker, Kenneth Branum, David Cook, David Whitman, Michael Armstrong, Vance Smith, employees of Armor Seed, members of the Douskurt Hunting Club, Jerry Phipps, Carl Phipps, David McCulley, Jr. and Bobby Joe Hodge. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
