Mr. Richard "Dick" Wood of Harrisburg departed this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at his home, at the age of 91.
He was born August 23, 1925 in Jonesboro, AR, the son of the late Francis Marion Wood and Ruth Darr Wood.
Dick was a Farm Bureau Agent for Poinsett County for 35 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Richard D. Wood, Jr. and David Wood, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Stricklin Wood of the home, one daughter, Peggy Wood, and one son, Zack Wood, both of Harrisburg, two grandchildren, Spring Rose Wood and partner Mollie of Ashville, NC, and Nathan Wood and partner Hollis of Fayetteville, NC, three sisters, Edith Boler of Montgomery, AL, Melba DeBerry (Bill) of Germantown, TN, Martha Carson (Bill) of Jonesboro, and two daughters in law, Lynn Jones (Sam) of Wilson, AR and Terry Taylor of Alexander, AR.
Arrangements are private and under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg.
