Obituary
Mr. Richard Lynn White of Jonesboro, departed this life Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 75.
He was born March 7, 1944 in Jonesboro, the son of the late L.W. White and Lola Mays White.
Following High School, he worked at Kroger and joined the Air Force. He married Judy Brown on June 2, 1963 and they enjoyed 56 years together. After four years in the Air Force, he attended ASU and graduated with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business. He worked as controller at Frolic Foot Wear and went on to be Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President of Nine West Group, Inc. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and loved his family. He enjoyed his church family and was a deacon at Fairview Baptist Church. He went into private business (2020 Investments) in 1996. He was also on the Board of Lifeway Christian Word Ministries and Stoneridge Baptist Camp.
He is survived by his wife, Judy White of the home, two sons, Andy White and David White, both of Jonesboro, one daughter, Jamie White Holladay of Jonesboro, four brothers, Bill White of Marion, Paul White and Danny White of Jonesboro, and Ken White of California, one sister, Carolyn Stroud of Jonesboro, and eight grandchildren, Jordan Massirer, Samuel White, Jonathan White, Justin Holladay, Jacob Holladay, Jaxon Holladay, Zoe White and Eden White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill White and a brother, Ronnie White.
Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Paul White officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Justin Holladay, Brett Grice, Jonathan White, Sam White, Chris Wheeler, Scotty Simino and Larry McKnight and Jarrett Holladay. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Passmore, James Baggett, Bill Vick, Jaxon Holladay and Jacob Holladay.
