Richard "Pop" Michael Rober, 88, of Maynard, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.

Richard was born on April 26, 1936, to Chester and Catherine Rober in Quincy, MA. Richard joined the Air Force and served in Okinawa, Germany, South Korea, and Japan. After leaving the military he went on to earn his Masters Degree in Instrumentation and Technology Engineering and worked constructing Nuclear Plants and on the SR-71 Blackbird project.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Catherine Rober; wife, Bobbie Jean Howard Rober; son, Mike Starnes; grandson, Matt Cowles; granddaughter Joie McAbee; and nine siblings.

He is survived by sons, Richard Rober and Kenneth Rober; daughter, Brenda Howard; grandsons, Benjamin Michael (Mary) Cowles and Justin (Sarah) Starnes; granddaughters, Karri (Mickey) Blair and Jessica Starnes; nineteen great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a private service held at a later date.
