Pocahontas, Rheta Afton Shaver Hart, age 94, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at her home in Pocahontas. Born in November 17, 1919, she was the widow of Cleatus Hart. Life partners for 69 years, they married on January 30, 1943, while Cleatus was in the U.S. Army. She was the youngest daughter of the late Rufus L and Clara Amanda Campbell Shaver and the sister of the late Raye F. Goff and the late Ruth Leland Ulmer. An infant son; a brother, Doc Shaver and a 10 year old sister, Leslie Shaver, also preceded her in death. She is survived by five nieces and a nephews; Rosemary McKinley of Lee's Summit, Missouri; James Dary Goff of Farmington, Arkansas; Elizabeth Ann "Becky" Holmes of Romance, Arkansas; Jim Ulmer of Pocahontas ; and David Goff of Paragould, Arkansas. Several great-nieces and great nephews also survive. She is also survived by thwir god-child, Donna McKnight of Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at McNabb Fuenral with burial at the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas. Visitation will be on hour before the service. She was of the Church of Christ belief.
