Jonesboro- Reynolds Leon Gearhart, 76, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born December 26, 1938 in Reyno, Arkansas to the late Joseph Leo and Alva Kirk Gearhart. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired after 29 years as a salesman with Frito Lay. He enjoyed drag racing, hunting and fishing and was a member of "The Jonesboro Bass Club". He was an active member of the First Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Anderson Gearhart; three sons, Jeffrey Kirk Gearhart of Cordova, Tenn, Scott Alan Gearhart (Sandy) of McHenry, Ill and James Douglas Gearhart of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Lauren Brooke Clayton and Corey David Gearhart both of Jonesboro, Coty Tyler Hall of Brookland and Catelyn Marie Hall of McCrory; six brothers and sisters, Wayne Gearhart (Carolyn) of Pocahontas, Janis Borden (John) of Jonesboro, Tom Gearhart (Marie) of Jonesboro, Jim Gearhart (Linda) of Piggott, Jill Boyles (Jerry) of Clairmore, OK and Terry Gearhart of Paragould; several nephews and nieces and other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother Joe Gearhart Jr. A celebration of his life will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2015 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Nelson Cemetery in Reyno. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Eddie Robinett, Fred Edwards, Larry Cook, Jim Tolewitzke, Bobby Brice and Mike Broadway and as honorary pallbearers his Sunday School Class, the Men's Fellowship Class. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church Care Center. Special thanks to the caring staff of NEA Baptist especially the Cardiac Rehab and ICU unit.
