Rex Carlton Dismang passed away at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 5th, 2021 at the age of seventy-seven. He was born in Doniphan, Missouri to the late Rex Ray Dismang and Nancy (Lewallen) Dismang. Rex was a graduate of Maynard High School in Maynard, Arkansas. He served as a member of the Army National Guard for six years. On December 17th, 1966, he married Loretta (Hovis) Dismang. He later attended Eaton Barber School of Little Rock and graduated in 1970. Rex, Loretta, and their family moved back to Pocahontas in 1974. Rex became a local fixture at the Y Barber Shop. He later relocated, renamed his business Rex's, and worked there until his retirement in 2006. Rex is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta, his two daughters Kristie (Douglas) Morgan of Siloam Springs and Shelley Payne of Little Rock, and his granddaughter Hanna Joy Morgan of Siloam Springs. He is also survived by his siblings: Paul (Nancy) Dismang, Gary (Reta) Dismang, Norma (Don) Wood-Oliver, Tammy Dismang, and Pam (Chad) Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Dismang.
Rex was a committed Christian and never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those around him - family, friends, and strangers alike. He attended Corner Post Cowboy Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He often reached out to others that he observed as in need and will be remembered as a generous and compassionate man. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend to all that knew him.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 7:30 P.M. Friday April 9, 2021 in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday April 10, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Nelson Cemetery. All services are under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
