Raymond Phillips,89, passed away peacefully at St. Bernards Hospital on September 16, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1937 in Weiner, AR to the late Dutch and Goldia Phillips.

Raymond grew up in Weiner, being the youngest of 5 children, he spent his early years learning the trade of hunting, fishing, and farming to make him the outdoorsman he was. This is what he was known for his whole life. He met the love of his life, Joyce Phillips, and shared 67 wonderful years of marriage together. He spent his whole life farming and once he retired all his time was spent hunting, fishing, and trapping. Raymond was known for his beaver trapping ability. He would trap for all the farmers and Game of Fish. He also enjoyed being outdoors in his garden. People would come from all over to pick his vegetables.

He is survived by his children; a son, Terry Wayne Phillips (Karen) of Otwell, a daughter, Rhonda Mills (Terry Joe) of Valley View, a son, Barry Phillips of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Chance Mills (Haley), Chelsea Ashlock (Jonathan), Jessica Lindsey (Shane), Cody Phillips (Kaitlin), Chad Phillips, Justin Phillips (Terrilynn), Chase Phillips (Lauren) Abby McClintock (Jackson), Jodi Ash, and 17 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by wife Joyce Phillips; a sister June Adams, a sister Della Mae Phillips, a sister Lou Jean Phillips, a brother Wayne Phillips, and a brother James Phillips.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday September 21, 2026 at McDaniel Cemetery Pavilion starting at 11 am, burial to follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chance Mills, Shane Lindsey, Justin Phillips, Chase Phillips, Stan Lewis, and Cody Phillips.
