He was a deacon and charter member of Elnora Free Will Baptist Church, and along with his wife Mary Lee, hosted many pastors and missionaries in his home when they visited his church. In his spare time, he was an outdoorsman who was well-known for his ability to train dogs. Called "Bird Dog" by many, Ralph was especially proud of his dog "Trouble" who was a champion pointer. He was a beloved father and grandfather who loved all his kids the same, including those he gained by marriage to his second wife Marie. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2011 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas.
