Pocahontas - Ralph Gene Hill, 70, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home. Born April 16, 1941 in Double Springs, AL to the late John and Annie Hill. He is also preceded in death by granddaughter, Samantha Barr, three sisters; Bertha Tidwell, Burnice Shivley and Dortha Whitley and three brothers; Allen Hill, John Hill, Jr. And Raymond Hill. He is survived by his wife Erma Hill of the home. One son, John Hill of Pocahontas, 3 daughters, Pam (Kenny) Barr of Maynard, Angie Bland \u0026 special friend H.C. Becton of Kinston, NC, Suzie Norris \u0026 special friend Billy Thompson of Maynard. Six Grandchildren; Dickie Ray Bland, Jr and special friend Ashley Thomas of Kinston, NC, Shane Bland also of Kinston, NC, Benjamin and wife Terry Barr of Pocahontas, Jessica Barr of Maynard, Kalib Norris of Chapel Hill, NC and Makala Norris of Kinston, NC and one great grandson Noah Ray Bland of Kinston, NC. Two brothers; Rayburn Hill of Wilson, AR, Billy Ray (Sybil) Hill of Lynn, AL, one sister Barbara Young of Double Springs, AL. Many nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Hill enjoyed having a house full of friends and family. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially bluegrass and making people laugh. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Kenny Barr and Mike Bradley officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday night from 5-8 p.m. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.
