Rachel Edna Whittingham, 84, of Jonesboro, passed away May 18, 2015. She was born August 1, 1930 in Birmingham, AL to the late John O. Lamons and Myrtle E. Cross Lamons. Mrs. Whittingham was the owner operator of Edna's Alteration shop for 25 years, was a charter member of Westvale Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving mother, sister grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include, two daughters, Donna Lumley and husband Ronnie of Jonesboro, Judy Sauser and husband Tony of Bono, one son, Ronnie Whittingham and wife Phyllis of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Andrew Lumley and wife Denise of Colt, Jenny Buhler and husband Lynn of Trumann, Cody Sauser and wife Sarah of Bono, Rachel Duck and husband Andrew of Fayetteville and Clayton Whittingham and wife Jessica of Marietta, GA, great- grandchildren, Lauren Lumley, Hannah Lumley, Brenna Lumley, Shelby Buhler, Jacob Sauser, Levi Sauser, Katie Sauser, James Whittingham and William Whittingham, brothers Johnny Lamons of St. Louis, MO, James Lamons of Columbia SC and Bob Lamons of Charleston SC sisters, Margaret Williams of Jonesboro, Mary Taylor of Damascus, Janie Whittingham of West Plains, MO, Betty Burch of Marion, Nancy Hosman of Tyronza and Earline Sanford of Belvedere, IL. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Marion Earl Whittingham, brother, Carl Lee Lamons and a great grandchild, Molly Buhler. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday May 21, 2015 in the chapel of Gregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home (300 W. Matthews Ave, Jonesboro AR 870-935-5566) with Richard Akins officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Bono. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8. Lasting memorials may be made in her memory to the Bono Church of Christ food pantry
