Obituary

Lavon Dean Jonesboro - Pringle Lavon Dean, 71, formerly of Pocahontas, died Wednesday, June 10th at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock following a sudden illness. Born in Randolph County, he moved his family to Rockford, IL in 1960 before moving them back to Pocahontas in 1974. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mildred Dean, of the home, son and daughter-in-law; Tim and Cindy Dean of Jonesboro, two grandchildren, Andy and Alex Dean of Jonesboro and future granddaughter-in-law Rachel Orr of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by three sisters; Johnnie Lea Tribble of Pocahontas, Ernastine Holloway of Livingston, IL and Jerrie Sue Seehaver of Pocahontas. Two sisters-in-law; Betty Murray of Pocahontas and Ethel James of Cherokee Village and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pringle and Lula Dean of Pocahontas, in-laws, Bill and Verna Murray of Pocahontas, brother-in-law, Carl Murray of Pocahontas, nephew Michael Holloway of Missouri and nephew Michael Loggains of California. Visitation will be at 9:00-10:30 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Saturday, June 13, 2009 with Roger Hovis officiating. The funeral service will be conducted immediately following. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Billy Bibb, Larry Joe Dean, Freddie Murray, Red Oaks, Chris Sharp, and Dewayne Sharp. The family requests lasting memorials be made to Crowley's Ridge Academy in Paragould, AR.
