Phyllis Ann Throesch Smith, 60, of Paragould, passed away from this life on August 12, 2026, at the Cottages of Belle Meade in Paragould, Arkansas. Born in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on June 29, 1966, to the late Joe and Janell Throesch, Phyllis lived a life marked by devotion, compassion, and quiet strength.

Phyllis was a licensed practical nurse and spent many years serving her community with dedication. She was passionate about her work and took great pride in caring for others, offering comfort and skill during their most vulnerable moments. Her commitment to nursing reflected the heart she carried into every part of her life.

In her later years, Phyllis faced cancer with the same determination and courage that defined her life. She met every challenge with resilience, grace, and an unwavering spirit, becoming an example of strength to all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Janell Throesch; paternal grandparents, Henry and Josephine Throesch; maternal grandmother, Nola Smith Golden; and maternal grandfather, Jesse Smith; brother-in-law, Devon Snodgrass.

Phyllis is survived by her two children, Robert Joseph (B.J.) Smith and Corey Smith. She is also survived by her siblings: Nancy (Cliff) Wilson, Chris (Tonya) Throesch, Glen Throesch, Tracy (Donnie) Yandell, and Sharon Snodgrass. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the funeral mass to begin at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Phyllis will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her deep compassion, and the quiet resilience that carried her through life’s hardest moments. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and courage that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever held in the hearts of many.
