Peter Merrill Keyes, 66, of Jonesboro, passed away at his home in rural Jonesboro on September 8, 2024. He was born on January 28,1958, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Howard and June Marie (Shipley) Keyes.
Peter proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a dedicated member of the Nettleton Masonic Lodge #657. He had a deep passion for guns and loved spending time shooting and being with his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was dressing up as Santa Claus every year, bringing smiles and joy to the community.
Peter was preceded in death by, two sisters, Flossie Taylor and Mary Ray, and one brother, Daniel Keyes.
Peter is survived by, two sons, Pete Keyes (Hannah Chapman) of Kokomo, IN, Howard Keyes of Jonesboro, two daughters, Jewel (Samuel) Ware of Weston, W. VA., and Courtney Jackson of Kokomo, IN., two brothers, Herbert Junior (Angela) Ogles of Jonesboro, AR., and Darold (Heidi) Ogles of Jonesboro, AR., three sisters, Betty Nichols of Senath, MO., Shirley Partain of Bono, AR., Doris (Wayne) Franklin of Muskogee, OK., and nine grandchildren, Madisyn Keyes, Jennings Keyes, Samantha  Murphy, Aaron Murphy, Emitt Jackson, Evelyn Jackson, Emerson Jackson and Easton Jackson.
A Memorial will be held on Sunday September 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge.
Services will be under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
