Peggy Jane Reed, 87, of Jonesboro, formerly of Pocahontas passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Peggy was born September 12, 1938 in Pocahontas to the late John Henry and Alma Mae Dorman McFatridge. Peggy held the honor of being crowned the second Miss Randolph County and she competed in the Miss Arkansas pageant, where she proudly wore outfits she made herself with the aid of her PHS Home-Economics teacher. In 1959, she married her high school sweetheart and was welcomed into heaven by Don just one day before what would have been their 67th Wedding Anniversary. She was a florist and long-time owner/operator of Blooms and Bows Flower Shop, where she took great pride in the beauty, excellence, and personalization of her work. Her greatest joy in life was the title of Nana, and later “white-haired nana” by her great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Skaggs Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma McFatridge; husband, Donnie Ray Reed; and brothers, Dorman, Darrell, and Billy Faye McFatridge.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Rick) Rorex of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ryan Sheets of Jonesboro and Gretchen (Daniel) Kelley of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Beau and Blake Sandine, and Sutton and Tucker Clines all of Jonesboro; sisters in law, Nima McFatridge of Elizabeth and Billie Ruth McFatridge of Pocahontas; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will be held with Gerald Fears officiating. There will be no visitation.
