Jonesboro/Mammoth Springs- Patrick Joseph Bednar, 77, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at White River Medical in Batesville.

He was born December 19, 1945 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to the late Andrew Phillip Bednar Sr. and Agnes Staudt Bednar. He proudly served in the United States Army. He graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended Arkansas State College. As a young man he started a land leveling business before he began farming full time.  Even in retirement, he continued to enjoy working on equipment, with livestock, and improving his farm.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.  The Catholic Church was a big part of his life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer, Missouri and previously belonged to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was constantly helping others in need.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Paula Bednar and a brother Andrew Bednar Jr.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Joseph Bednar (Amy Elizabeth); granddaughters, Elizabeth Paula Bednar and Addison Mary Bednar; brothers, David Bednar and Paul Bednar; sisters, Elizabeth Moore and Carolyn Meyer and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer, Missouri.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday November 16, 2023 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Alex Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the rosary service following.
