Opaline Wallace Smothers of Lakeside Nursing Center left this world for a better place on August 26, 2007 at the age of 85. Opaline was born and raised in Monette. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethabara Baptist Church. She loved her family and flowers and to quilt which she made on her old treadle sewing machine.
