MESQUITE, Nev. " Opal Marie Voyles, 97, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in Mesquite, Nev.
Opal was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Walnut Ridge to Almer Jack Duncan and Nelly Marie Darnell. She married Conard E. Voyles on Jan. 19, 1946, in St. Louis, and enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing Sept. 7, 1991. Opal was a longtime resident of Jonesboro and loved to call it home. She was a faithful member of the Southwest Church of Christ for the 46 years she lived in Jonesboro.
Opal is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Donna Voyles of Mesquite; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Voyles of Lake City; her sister, Laverne Kussin of O\u0027Fallon, Mo., one grandson; one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and several lifelong friends.
In addition to her husband, Conard Voyles, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Voyles.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, 3910 Harrisburg Road. Local arrangements are entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
