Pocahontas- Opal Maye Crawford Vandergriff, 95 passed away July 29, 2015. Opal was born April 10, 1920 to the late Ollie Rodney and Martha (Brown) Crawford. She is survived by one daughter Virginia Thielemier (Jack) of Pocahontas, AR, six grandsons, four granddaughters, three great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson, one great-great-granddaughter, daughter-in-law Glenda Vandergiff, one brother Joe Crawford and sister-in-law Alta Crawford. She was preceded in death by sons Carroll Dean and Jerry Vandergriff, daughter-in-law Ruth, grandson Jeremy, her parents, three brothers Curtis Lee Crawford, Johnny Crawford, and Raymond Crawford, three sisters Meeta Stacy, Birdie Arnold, and Annie. Maye was a homemaker most of her life. A hard working woman with a heart of gold, who said what she meant and meant what she said. Visitation will be held in McNabb Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 10-11 AM. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Barry Chaffin officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.
