Woodbury, MN-Opal Emogene Oldham Ivy passed away March 4, 2014 in her home with family in Woodbury, Minnesota at the age of 92. Opal was born on December 4, 1921 in Eaton, Arkansas to Haney and Stella Oldham. On April 25, 1945 she married Thomas Quentin Ivy. Opal is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Willie Oldham, Carson Oldham and Truman Oldham, and one sister, Knowles Teel. Opal is survived by two sisters, Willene Johnson and Daphene (John) Campbell; three children, Tom (Gloria) Ivy, Melody (James) Gissel and Quentina (Jose) Mendez; three grandchildren, David (Kristina) Ivy, Christine Ivy, and Katrina Mendez. Opal was a mighty prayer warrior for the entire family. She will be missed for her incredible capacity to love and inspire others in their journey of faith. Visitation will be held at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. in the McNabb Chapel. Burial will take place at the Old Lebanon Cemetery on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 10:00 am.
