Obituary

Mrs. Onita Tate, of Harrisburg, departed this life Friday, July 15, 2016, in Harrisburg, at the age of 76. She was born May 8, 1940, in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Harold Hoots, Sr. and Avis Prince Hoots. Onita enjoyed fishing, cooking shows and shopping from catalogs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Hoots and a sister, Mary Haynes. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Tate Weeks of Harrisburg, four sisters, Juanita Odom and Betty Cansler, of Harrisburg and Nancy Lowry Edman and Connie Brewer of Jonesboro, two brothers, Harold Hoots, Jr. of Jonesboro and Leroy Hoots, Sr. of Hickory Ridge, three grandchildren, Stacy Weeks Mross and Sarah Weeks of Harrisburg and Jonathan Weeks of Newport, and four great grandchildren, Makayla Cutlip and Jax Mross of Harrisburg, Nate Weeks of Trumann and Liam Weeks of Newport. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Buddy Stacey officiating. Interment will follow in Farm Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Wayne Hoots, L.J. Hoots, Charles Cansler, Gary Cansler, Roy Haynes, Jr., and Marion Trowbridge. Honorary pallbearers will be George Bates, Jr., Bill Lowry, Ronnie Brewer, Jo Mross, David Hoots and Danny Griffin.
