Obituary

Mrs. Ola Mae Gregory of Trumann, departed this life Friday, November 12, 2021, at her home, at the age of 96.

She was born March 1, 1925 in Delrose, TN, the daughter of the late Benton Shirley Whitman, Sr. and Addie Gertrude Mitchell Whitman.

Ola Mae married E. M. Gregory on November 12, 1943 and they enjoyed sixty-eight years together before his death in September of 2011.  She worked side by side with him on the farm and enjoyed her life as a homemaker and mother.  She loved her family and enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors and gardening.  She loved to cook and can and was famous for her macaroni and tomatoes.  She loved all flowers and vegetables and talking to anyone who would listen.  She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Trumann.

She is survived by one son, James E. "Jim" Gregory (Karen) of Trumann; one daughter, Carolyn Hendrix Mealer (Larry) of Trumann; one daughter in law, Linda Fay Gregory of Trumann; eight grandchildren, Anna Marie Blagg (Randy) of Trumann, Larry Edward Gregory (LaNiece) of Trumann, Kathy Lynn Lindsey (Paul) of Weiner,  Tracy Denise Williams (Mike) of Weiner, William Ray Gregory (Melissa) of Jonesboro, David Michael Gregory (Karen) of Hoxie, Jerry Ashby (Amber) of Bella Vista, and Gregory Jordan Hendrix (Taylor) of Dublin, OH; twenty-two great grandchildren and sixteen great great grandchildren and a host of foster children.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Gregory, son-in-law, Charles B. Hendrix, Jr., six brothers and five sisters.

A graveside funeral is scheduled Tuesday morning, November 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. , at the Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery, with Brother Dennis McElyea officiating.  Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro in is charge of arrangements.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers and Paul Lindsey, Mike Williams, Randy Blagg and David Gregory are honorary pallbearers.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday afternoon, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Maple Grove Baptist Church or the Central Missionary Baptist Church, both in Trumann.
